A pre-existing basement water problem caused by poor grading and down spouts placed right next to the house was the challenge. The client wanted to replace the existing lower deck with a paver patio. The patio would serve as an overflow for the new deck and a path to the pool. The water problem was solved by installing a retaining wall on both sides of the basement door. This redirected the surface water away from the walls and door. As a precaution, a surface drain box was connected to 4” pipes to carry the water away from the patio. The down spouts were also connected to a separate 4” line to carry the water away. The new deck above was enlarged to allow for more year round use. completed projects |
